I’m fairly busy, so lesson times can sometimes be limited, but I can usually find a space for a keen new student.
Lesson times
Lessons are one hour long. My normal teaching hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 4pm–9pm
- Sunday: 11am–4pm
Please contact me to find out which lesson times are currently available.
Weekly and fortnightly lessons
Weekly lessons are usually the best arrangement and make it much easier to maintain momentum between lessons, fortnightly lessons can sometimes be arranged, particularly if I can match you with another fortnightly student using the same time slot on alternate weeks but these spaces are more limited and priority will normally be given to someone wanting a regular weekly lesson.

Age and lesson length
I don’t offer 30-minute lessons and I’m currently accepting students aged 17 and over.
What you’ll need
To get the most from lessons you’ll need regular access to either a steel-string acoustic guitar or an electric guitar and so I’m not currently accepting students who only have a classical nylon-string guitar as it isn’t particularly well suited to the material we’ll be studying. You’ll also need internet access because lesson recordings, notes and other material are delivered digitally and some of the files can be fairly large.

Coming to lessons
I don’t have a separate waiting room for accompanying family members, assorted children, flocks of geese or whatever else you might bring with you, although spectators are very welcome, — just give me a little warning so I can organise an acceptably comfy chair. Parking is very easy here, often there is space on the drive.
